There’s just something wonderful about seeing your favorite pop culture properties reimagined as something unimaginable. Artist Joey Spiotto does that really well. In previous years, he’s become well-known for turning pop culture properties like Firefly, The Avengers and Lost into eye-catching album covers. Now he’s taking that tone and turning it into a full gallery exhibit by adapting properties like Breaking Bad, Pulp Fiction, Godzilla, Guardians of the Galaxy, A Clockwork Orange and others into children’s books reminiscent of Random House’s popular “Little Golden Books” series.
The exhibit is called Storytime: A Little Gallery Show and it opens August 1 at Gallery 1988 East in Los Angeles, CA. It consists of 50 properties from movies, TV, music and video games put through Spiotto’s unique children’s filter. Below, we’ve got a bunch of examples from the Joey Spiotto Gallery 1988 show.
