Watch the James McAvoy bald Xavier quote below.
McAvoy spoke to the Huffington Post about the film and said the following:
Here’s the video:
I have no idea what’s going on. I think I’m losing my hair finally. And in the movie. And, yeah, that’s kind of all I know. I got an email from the Simon Kinberg, our producer/writer extraordinare, who informed me he was getting dead excited about stuff, but he didn’t want to divulge anything for a couple of weeks, so I really don’t know. But It seems fairly global, if we’re talking apocalypse, maybe it’s just the character’s name but I think the nature of the movie will be fairly apocalyptic.
Going bald at this point seems like the natural progression for Charles, simply based on biology if nothing else. If men go bald, they tend to do it between their 20s and 40s. Which is how old he would be in this timeline. Now, it’s unclear if it’ll be a natural thing or more related to the mutation, like in the comics. You’d have to imagine it’ll be a plot point though, something to help Cerebro work better or maybe a radiation effect as it’s the Cold War. We’ll see.
McAvoy might be finding out in the coming weeks, but we won’t find out for a good long time. X-Men Apocalypse starts filming next Spring leading into a May 27, 2016 release.
