Kevin Feige Teases Possible Avengers / Guardians Of The Galaxy Crossover

If you’re holding out hope for the either group to join forces with the X-Men, however, you’re probably out of luck. In the same interview, Feige downplayed the possibility of an Avengers / X-Men crossover. Sorry, Hugh Jackman. Hit the jump to see what Feige had to say.
Here’s what he had to say when asked whether the Avengers and the Guardians might battle Thanos together someday.
Feige’s probably just playing dumb here. This is the guy who claims to have the MCU mapped out through 2028. It’d be weirder if he really didn’t know.
I don’t know. Part of the fun of the comics is that could happen. Any character could interact with any other character because they inhabit the same time period and the same universe. And certainly it is the inclusion of Thanos most specifically that is a declaration to audiences who are paying attention that this is connected to those other universes. Part of the fun is that it could happen someday. I don’t know when that would be. Or maybe I know and I’m not going to tell you!
He sounded decidedly less optimistic when discussing the potential for inter-studio crossovers.
In other words, don’t hold your breath for Wolverine or Spidey to join the Avengers. To be fair, the other studios aren’t necessarily clamoring to play with the MCU either. While X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner has said she’d “love” to see her heroes hanging with the Avengers, Spider-Man producer Avi Arad has declared that an X-Men or Avengers crossover will only happen when he’s “out of ideas.”
