Tom Hiddleston Starring In ‘Skull Island,’ Jordan Vogt-Roberts Directing

We’ve got some more details on Legendary and Universal’s new film Skull Island, and they’re awesome. Legendary made the surprise announcement at Comic Con, promising a film that delves into the location of King Kong’s origin. Now Tom Hiddleston is in talks to star in the picture, which will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer, You’re the Worst). More info is below.
Vogt-Roberts is pretty happy to be on the job for this one, as you’d imagine:

He’s also attached to direct Metal Gear Solid for Sony. We’d guess Skull Island is going to happen much sooner. And Legendary has made a great choice, as Vogt-Roberts appears to have a great method with actors and can keep the characters and story in good focus while also putting a solid understanding of action and spectacle to work in the Skull Island surroundings. And maybe now we’ll start to get answers to some of the many questions we’ve had about the film. Here’s the press release:
